Intermediate Fiction with Ian Nettleton
Got to grips with the basics of writing fiction? Now take your writing to the next level and discover ways to make your novel or short story really stand out with this friendly, supportive ten week intermediate course led by expert tutor and published writer, Ian Nettleton.
Ian has been leading sold-out fiction courses at Writers’ Centre Norwich for a number of years. Through a combination of group discussion and one-to-one feedback, you will explore the main elements of fiction writing such as creating compelling characters, the importance of point of view, and how to promise a story that will draw the reader in from the very beginning. You will also examine the difference between short fiction and the novel.
Ian will equip you with the skills and knowledge to progress on your writing journey, as well as offering guidance on how to get your writing out into the world and to readers. By the end, you will be encouraged to produce a complete short story or the first 2,000 words of a novel.
